When COVID-19 first emerged in March 2020, I found myself sidelined as a Nurse Practitioner because I was conducting home visits for patients. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the virus, home visits were halted to prevent Covid's spread. My employer at the time reassigned me to the role of "Innovation Analyst" where I assisted the company in implementing telehealth services for Medicare home visits. Working remotely, I gained little experience treating COVID-19 patients. But the gift in staying home was being able to assist my two daughters adapt to online schooling due to school closures and still work part time.
In the fall of 2020, I resumed in-person home visits. At the beginning of December, I contracted COVID-19 from a patient. My symptoms escalated rapidly, and within two days I tested positive. Despite my medical background, I found myself at a loss for how to treat my own illness. I experienced severe symptoms, including bilateral lobe pneumonia and hypoxia, with oxygen levels dipping into the mid-80s. I endured daily fevers for 14 days, often accompanied by uncontrollable shaking. I had been to the emergency room (ER) for splitting headaches and by day 10 my condition had worsened significantly. The ER told me if I returned, I would be sent to the hospital. I did not want to go to the hospital. In desperation, I knelt by my couch and prayed, asking God for healing and guidance. Long story short, a knowledgeable and compassionate colleague came to my aid. She visited me at my home, bringing medications and much-needed support. Another Nurse Practitioner trained in pulmonology started me on antibiotics and steroids. Remarkably, within 24 hours, my 14-day stent of fevers broke permanently and I began to recover. Instead of feeling like I was sinking into a hole I didn't know if I would come out of, I felt like a 180-degree shift had occurred and I was on a new upward trajectory. That weekend, I vividly remember feeling like a completely different person, and I started to gain energy. Although full recovery took time, the turnaround was pronounced and remarkable.
Shortly after my recovery, patients began reaching out to my telemedicine practice seeking help with COVID-19. I quickly immersed myself in learning everything possible about treating the virus. Each patient presented unique challenges, which motivated me to deepen my knowledge and adapt my practice. Since then, I have successfully treated thousands of COVID-19 patients, witnessing extraordinary recoveries.
Today, I offer comprehensive telemedicine services for those preparing for, recovering from, or dealing with long-haul COVID-19 and spike protein toxicity from illness or vaccines. If you need assistance, please don't hesitate to schedule an appointment with me or my esteemed, knowledgeable, and compassionate colleague, Dr. Jody Mittiga. It would be our privilege to help you stay healthy and recover from COVID-19 and related conditions.
Sincerely,
Dr. Anna Yoder
